Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present food items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Perform daily mise en place and ensure all ingredients are prepared for service.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and portion control.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, labeling, and rotation of food products in accordance with food safety standards.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements to supervisors.
- Minimize food wastage through effective inventory management and portion control practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any malfunction or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting food deliveries to ensure quality and freshness standards are met.
- Support the chefs and culinary team in daily operations, promotions, and special events.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant culinary experience in a hotel, restaurant, or similar establishment.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation methods, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
- Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards, including HACCP practices.
- Ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume kitchen environment.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
