We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable and guest‑focused Junior Sommelier to join our dynamic Restaurant & Beverage team.
As an ambassador of our wine programme and a key contributor to the overall guest dining experience, you will support the Sommelier team in delivering warm, refined and personalised service. You will guide guests through our wine selections, assist in pairings, maintain cellar organisation, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality and product knowledge.
In this role, you will work closely with the Head Sommelier, Restaurant Management and Culinary teams to elevate the guest journey, ensure seamless service, and contribute to a world‑class beverage offering.
What you will do
Provide warm, thoughtful and knowledgeable wine service that enhances the overall dining experience.
Support the Sommelier team in managing the wine list, cellar organisation and daily operational preparation.
Assist with wine pairings, offering recommendations tailored to guest preferences and menu selections.
Maintain high presentation standards across wine service tools, glassware, storage areas and service stations.
Participate in wine tastings, training sessions and supplier visits to deepen product knowledge.
Ensure accurate pouring, responsible alcohol service and adherence to beverage compliance standards.
Collaborate with the restaurant team to deliver seamless service during lunch and dinner periods.
Assist in stock counts, receiving deliveries and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Engage with guests in a polished, confident and personable manner, fostering memorable interactions.
Support senior sommeliers in overseeing wine service during busy periods and special events.
What you will bring
Previous experience in a restaurant, bar or food & beverage environment, ideally within a premium or luxury setting.
A genuine passion for wine, vineyards, producers and guest‑facing hospitality.
Strong foundational knowledge of wine styles, grape varieties and regions, with a desire to continue learning.
Excellent communication skills with a warm, articulate and professional presence.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and an ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced environment.
A proactive, curious attitude and willingness to grow under the guidance of senior sommeliers.
Ability to build strong rapport with guests, colleagues and suppliers.
Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
WSET Level 1 or 2 (or willingness to obtain) is a strong advantage.
Additional language skills are beneficial.
