About the role

Our People & Culture team plays a key role in supporting our employees and fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued, inspired, and empowered. We are seeking a People & Culture Intern who is eager to learn, excited about hospitality, and passionate about contributing to an inclusive, welcoming environment for all.

This internship is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning their People & Culture career and looking to gain handson experience across employee engagement, recruitment, onboarding, and People & Culture administration.

What you will do

Employee Relations & Engagement Support

  • Serve as a warm and friendly first point of contact for employees and candidates.

  • Assist in planning and executing employee events including Staff Appreciation celebrations, Service Awards, and onboarding activities.

  • Help maintain employee communication tools such as newsletters, flyers, bulletin boards, and the Engage platform.

  • Support recognition programs by gathering feedback, tracking participation, and highlighting employee achievements.

  • Collaborate on creative ways to enhance team member engagement and company culture.

Recruitment & Onboarding Assistance

  • Support the recruitment process by helping post job openings, review resumes, schedule interviews, and communicate with candidates.

  • Assist with preemployment steps including background checks, EVerify, and new hire paperwork.

  • Help coordinate firstday activities and ensure a smooth, welcoming onboarding experience.

  • Track introductory reviews and assist managers with timely completion.

Administrative & HRIS Support

  • Assist with accurate data entry and record maintenance in the HRIS system (Workday).

  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, copying, organizing documents, and answering phones.

  • Help run reports and conduct basic audits to ensure information accuracy.

  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive personal and employment information.

  • Support employees by providing information about policies, benefits, and general People & Culture inquiries.

  • Prepare and submit Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) as needed to support People & Culture events, trainings, and employee engagement activities.

  • Manage office supply inventory and place orders to ensure People & Culture office areas remain fully stocked and organized.

  • Show initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn People & Culture practices and hotel operations.

  • Manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and support multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Represent the People & Culture department with professionalism, integrity, and an opendoor mindset.

What you bring

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Professional, friendly demeanor with a commitment to confidentiality.

  • Interest in Human Resources, Hospitality, or related field (internship experience not required).

  • Basic understanding of People & Culture concepts is helpful but not required.

  • Familiarity with Workday or similar HRIS systems is a plus.

  • Enthusiasm for teamwork, employee engagement, and creating a positive workplace experience.

  • Proficiency in English (Spanish bilingual preferred).

  • Strong interpersonal skills and high attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while staying organized.

  • Comfort with Microsoft Office; Canva or similar tools a bonus.

  • A desire to learn, grow, and contribute to a collaborative team.

Schedule & Hours:

  • Full Time / Seasonal

  • Mid May - Mid July

  • Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
