Role Purpose
As a Bartender at Mama Shelter, you’re not just making drinks and you bring the energy behind the bar.
You know your way around a bar, can prepare cocktails confidently and handle a busy service without needing to be taught the basics. Just as importantly, you’re outgoing, engaging and know how to chat, recommend and create a great vibe for our guests.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, beers, wines and non-alcoholic drinks confidently and consistently.
- Welcome and engage guests with energy, warmth and personality.
- Follow Mama’s recipes, presentation and service standards.
- Recommend drinks and confidently answer guest questions.
- Bring personality and a little showmanship while keeping service fast and smooth.
- Set up, stock and maintain a clean, organised and service-ready bar.
- Handle multiple orders while maintaining speed, quality and attention to detail.
- Follow responsible alcohol service, hygiene and safety standards.
- Work closely with the F&B team and jump in wherever needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Bartending experience is required.
- Confident with classic cocktails, spirits, wines and beers.
- Able to handle bar service without needing to be taught the fundamentals.
- Friendly, outgoing and naturally comfortable engaging with guests.
- Fast, organised and calm in a busy, high-energy environment.
- Good understanding of bar setup, stock handling, cleanliness and closing procedures.
- Dependable, flexible and a strong team player.
- Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
