Chef / Demi Chef

Job Summary

We are seeking a Chef / Demi Chef to join our kitchen team to prepare and cook food following recipes and standards, manage kitchen duties independently, and maintain food quality, hygiene, and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and kitchen standards to ensure consistent quality
• Handle food preparation tasks including mise en place, portioning, and basic plating to support meal service
• Manage assigned kitchen duties independently with minimal supervision to maintain smooth operations
• Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team to support daily kitchen operations and meet service demands
• Monitor ingredient usage to control portions and minimize food wastage
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene by following food safety standards and cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas
• Check, store, and rotate ingredients properly to preserve freshness and prevent spoilage
• Perform additional kitchen duties and operational tasks as assigned to support overall kitchen efficiency
• Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure timely food preparation

Required competencies and certifications

• Relevant experience as a Commis Chef, Demi Chef, or similar kitchen role
• Good knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking techniques
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety practices
• Ability to work independently on assigned kitchen duties
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Good teamwork and communication skills to support effective kitchen collaboration

Other Information

• Salary: $2,800 – $3,500 per month
• Working Hours: 5 days per week, shift-based (Flexible)
• Location: Bukit Batok
