About the role
We are looking for an experienced ZI CHAR WOK Chef to support our Head Chef in running a busy Chinese kitchen. You will help lead the team, keep food quality consistent and keep kitchen operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and food preparation
Prepare and cook Chinese dishes to the restaurant's recipes and standards
Supervise and train junior kitchen staff
Oversee stock rotation and ordering
Ensure food hygiene and safety standards (SFA requirements) are met at all times
Lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
Help with menu development and costing
Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in Chinese cuisine kitchens, including supervisory experience
Strong wok, cutting and cooking skills
Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good leadership and teamwork
Food Safety Course Level 1 certificate preferred
Working hours
6 days a week, including Sundays and public holidays
12-hour split shift (e.g. [10am–2:30pm, 5pm–10pm]
Rest day on a weekday
Annual leave 7 DAYS/ medical 14 DAYS
